3 Days, 2 Content Markets, 1 City: Visit Seoul on your way to ATF!
By Chris Weatherspoon
If you produce or distribute Asian content, then early December means a stop at ATF in Singapore [Break Through Now Media will be there if you’d like to connect]. Running from December 5 to 8, the Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) is one of the top annual events for television and entertainment industry professionals from across the globe to gather, network, and explore opportunities within the content and media sectors.
However, if you have some time on your schedule, two large content markets are taking place in Seoul right before ATF: SPP and The Seoul Content IP Market!
I know what you’re thinking – South Korea sure has a lot of content markets!
Well there are good reasons for this.
First and foremost, Korea puts out a lot of high-quality content. From zany, outside the box, non-scripted formats to slickly produced, highly addictive dramas, Korean producers make good content that succeeds internationally. In addition, the South Korean government does an excellent job of promoting Korean soft-power. Several government organizations exist solely for the purpose of promoting Korean pop culture to international markets. Movies, animation, comic books, Kpop..you name it, there is an association in place to promote it!
So if you want a leg up on other buyers or investors going to ATF that might be competing for content in the region, make a quick stopover in Seoul for these two markets that take place over the course of 3 days!
